Windsor police were able to locate a man who was wanted in connection to an attempted murder investigation.
It started Thursday morning after an alleged shooting in the area of Mercer Street and Elliott Street.
Officers contained a Mercer Street home after being told the shooting suspect, John Elliot, was inside. The scene was reopened when police learned that Elliot was not in the residence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Elliot was considered armed and dangerous.
On Friday, police received information on Elliot's possible whereabouts. Officers were able to make contact with him inside a home on Wyandotte Street West near Church Street.
Following two hours of communication, Elliot exited the residence and was safely taken into custody without incident.
John Elliott, a 46-year-old male from Windsor, is charged with numerous offences including: -Attempt Murder -Forcible Confinement -Assault with a Weapon -Point-firearm
None of these charges have been proven in court.
