401 driver faces racing charges

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Windsor driver after stopping a vehicle for going more than 180 kilometres per hour on Highway 401.

Police clocked the vehicle just after 9 p.m. on Saturday near the Queen's Line exit.

A 20-year-old from Windsor is now charged with racing a motor vehicle and will appear in court on July 15. The charge has not been proven in court.

The vehicle of the accused has also been impounded for seven days.

Typically, the charge also comes with a drivers' license suspension of seven days.
