The Essex Region Conservation Authority has scheduled a prescribed burn in the Spring Garden Natural Area.
The burn will take place on Friday, April 24 on approximately four hectares of land around Reddock Avenue.
The conservation authority said the burn is necessary to maintain a healthy and diverse ecosystem in the Ojibway Prairie area. The controlled burn is part of a comprehensive restoration plan for this sensitive area.
The burn is being done in collaboration with the City of Windsor, Ministry of Transportation, and Wood and Wildfire Specialists Inc.
