Suspect sought in Sandwich Towne robbery

Windsor police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect following an overnight robbery.

It happened shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday at a convenience store on Mill Street and Sandwich Street West in Olde Sandwich Towne. When officers arrived, they learned that a man entered the store brandishing a knife.

A clerk distanced themselves from the man, who proceeded to take an unspecified quantity of items and run from the scene.

There were no injuries reported, according to Sergeant Steve Betteridge, public information officer.

The suspect is described as a white male, 35 to 40 years old, with a tall build. He was wearing a mostly green single-pieced suit and a black mask covering a portion of his face.

The knife has not been found.

Police have released a photo of the suspect, taken from the store's surveillance camera system.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity or whereabouts is urged to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
