Reward offered for information on homicide

The Windsor Police Service Board has authorized a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of whoever killed Geraldine Butterfield.

The body of 63-year-old Butterfield was discovered on May 25, 2019 in her apartment on Wellington Road. Police believe she likely died several days before her body was found.

Detectives said she lived alone in her apartment and only allowed very few immediate family members to visit her. They said they believe anyone other than a family member who was seen leaving the apartment would be considered suspicious.

Investigators are hoping the reward will encourage anyone who is reluctant to give information to come forward.

The reward is valid for one year.
