A flood watch is in effect for the shoreline along Lake Erie.
According to the Essex Region Conservation Authority, with high water levels and strong winds from the south in the forecast, there is an elevated risk of flooding.
In addition, the area could see a significant amount of rainfall Wednesday evening into Thursday. Environment Canada is predicting up to 40 millimetres could be possible in localized areas. ERCA said this could result in some inland flooding and standing water.
The standing high water flood watch remains in effect until the end of June.
