Leamington opening some public washrooms

The Municipality of Leamington is opening public washrooms in some public spaces.

Washrooms at the Leamington Marina, Rick Atkin Park, Mersea Park, Seacliff Park and Seacliff Beach will be open from 8 am to 8 pm daily.

The municipality is asking residents to only use the washrooms when necessary and avoid parks when they are busy.

“Windsor-Essex County remains at Stage 1 in the Province’s reopening plan for a reason. It is important that we remain diligent in practicing physical distancing, washing our hands and using hand sanitizer regularly,” said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. “Residents must continue to use their common sense and not attend parks and beaches if they are busy, and use public washrooms only as a last resort in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community.”

Washrooms will be periodically closed throughout the day to undergo routine cleaning.
