A road rage incident in east Windsor has led to multiple charges against a young Windsor man.
A driver and passenger of a car called Windsor police after the driver of another vehicle reportedly pointed what appeared to be a gun at them in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Pillette Road on Thursday around 3:30 pm. The incident was reported to the police along with a license plate and vehicle description.
Police pulled the driver in the vehicle over in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Clemenceau Boulevard. He was arrested at gunpoint. Police located was looked like a handgun inside the vehicle, but police soon discovered that is was an imitation gun.
An 18-year-old Windsor man is charged with using an imitation firearm during an offence, possessing an imitation weapon dangerous to public peace, and issuing death threats by gesture.
Police are reminding the public that while owning imitation firearms like airguns, pellet guns or BB guns is not illegal, the careless or illegal use of them could lead to serious criminal charges.
