Charges laid after break-and-enter in Amherstburg

A 31-year-old Windsor man is facing charges in connection with a break-and-enter in Amherstburg.

Windsor police's Amherstburg detachment said officers responded Tuesday morning to a report of a burglary at a residence. Among the items taken were a classic blue automobile, a motorcycle, and a pick-up truck. The theft is believed to have taken place between 10 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Later Tuesday afternoon, officers spotted the classic blue car outside a residence on Maisonneuve Avenue in Windsor. A male suspect was found inside one of the stolen vehicles and was arrested without incident.

The pick-up truck and motorcycle have also been recovered.

Adam Kiefer, 31, is charged with three counts of motor vehicle theft, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, and one count each of possession of stolen property over $5,000, break and enter, and breach of probation. These charges have not been proven in court.
