Three charged in Tecumseh drug probe

Three people are facing several drug and weapon-related charges following an investigation into trafficking.

The Ontario Provincial Police said the investigation began in June through its Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB). On Wednesday, a warrant was obtained to search a home on Horwood Crescent in Tecumseh.

Members of the OCEB, the OPP Canine Unit, the Provincial Asset Forfeiture Unit, and the Canada Border Services Agency joined officers from the Essex County detachment in conducting the search.

Unspecified quantities of cocaine, LSD, marijuana, and suspected fentanyl were seized, according to OPP Constable Matthew Lupton. About $14,000 in Canadian cash was also confiscated, along with weapons and high-end jewelry.

Cameron Lemire, 27, Ardell Thompson, 27, and Madison Desbiens, 20, all of Tecumseh, are charged with possession of a Schedule III substance, cocaine possession with intent to sell, possession of illicit cannabis with intent to sell, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

The trio will have an opportunity to defend itself against the charges in a Windsor courtroom on October 19.
