Two more people are facing charges in connection with a break-and-enter in Amherstburg.
Windsor police officers from the Amherstburg detachment responded Tuesday morning to a report of a burglary at a residence. Among the items taken were a classic blue automobile, a motorcycle, and a pick-up truck.
On Tuesday, officers spotted the classic blue car outside a residence on Maisonneuve Avenue in Windsor. A male suspect was found inside one of the stolen vehicles and was arrested.
The motorcycle was recovered by a different law-enforcement agency unoccupied, but the Windsor Police Property Crimes Unit was still looking for the pickup truck. Officers spotted the vehicle parked in an alley in the area of Howard Avenue near Eugenie Street East with a man and a woman sitting inside.
The man exited the vehicle around 1 p.m. Wednesday and was arrested. The female driver was soon taken into custody with the help of the Emergency Services Unit. Investigators also determined that she was operating the vehicle while impaired.
Amanda Labute, 32, of Windsor, is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, occupying a motor vehicle taken without the owner's consent, and impaired driving by drug.
Ryan Couch, 29, of Windsor, is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, and occupying a motor vehicle taken without the owner's consent.
These charges have not been proven in court. All three vehicles have been located and will be returned to the owner.
