Windsor to open east side marina and beach

The city of Windsor will open a popular east side beach this week, along with Lakeview Park Marina.

Subject to physical distancing guidelines, Sandpoint Beach in east Riverside will reopen on Wednesday after being closed for much of the season due to COVID-19 control guidelines. The beach will be open each day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Access to the beach will be controlled by city staff, lifeguards will be on duty, and visitors will be asked to abide by physical distancing rules.

The city has also hired Caduceon Environmental Laboratories to conduct water testing. Please check the outdoor pool and beach page of the city's official website for updates on closures due to water quality.

Also, the city will begin a gradual reopening of Lakeview Park Marina's boat ramp and fuel pump, starting Saturday. Seasonal boaters will be contacted between Saturday and August 7 as the dock becomes ready and available for boat launching.

The marina's customer service office and fuel docks will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends. The launch ramps will be accessible from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends. This schedule runs from Saturday through Labour Day.
