Another COVID-19 death in Windsor-Essex

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has reported another death due to COVID-19.

The health unit said on Thursday that a woman in her 90s, who was a resident of a retirement home, died in hospital Wednesday. She is the 74th person with the virus to pass away in the Windsor Essex County community.

The health unit also confirmed an additional four cases of COVID-19, for a total of 2,541 cases in Windsor-Essex. Among the new cases are two close contacts of a confirmed case, a community-acquired case, and one case linked to travel to Michigan.

The health unit is currently monitoring 91 active cases of COVID-19 in the community. There are 17 people receiving hospital care with one individual in the ICU.
