Police investigate after man shot in front of hotel

A Windsor man is in the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound after shots were fired from a vehicle on Division Road Wednesday night.

The Windsor Police Service Major Crime Unit is investigating the incident that happened around 11:30 on Division Road between Byng Road and Woodward Boulevard.

The suspect vehicle was parked out in front of the building when the shots rang out and it sped off afterward.

When officers arrived, they found a glass door that had been shattered, possibly from a bullet.

While speaking with some occupants at the hotel, they determined no one there was hurt, but a man had left before the police arrived.

Shortly after midnight, police found the victim at a home in the city. He had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police call it an active investigation and would like to talk to anyone with information to call the Windsor Police Service at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477. Tips can also be submitted online at www.catchcrooks.com.
