Commercial trucks cited in Kingsville blitz

Over a dozen commercial vehicles were slapped with citations following an enforcement blitz this week.

The OPP's Traffic Management Unit teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) in Kingsville on Tuesday, conducting a joint commercial vehicle inspection initiative.

A total of 23 commercial vehicles were inspected. Out of those, 19 were cited because of paperwork problems, load security, and vehicle maintenance issues.

Ten of the vehicles were taken out of service because of identified defects that were related to maintenance and load security. One licence plate was seized for a vehicle maintenance violation.

The MTO has provided a guide on its official website that discusses the latest developments concerning commercial vehicles and the regulations on them.
