Windsor police have laid charges after investigating a number of ongoing complaints involving loitering, property damage, and erratic driving in a parking lot on Tecumseh Road East.
After receiving the complaints, police were monitoring the parking lot near McDougall Street on Saturday evening.
Around 8:30 p.m., individuals began to gather throughout the parking lot in small groups. Officers saw a person driving a car in the parking lot, revving its engine and causing the wheels to spin out. According to police the car then catapulted forward, and proceeded to spin continuously throughout a large portion of the parking lot, leaving tire markings on the pavement.
Police said there were a number of people in the parking lot that were, at times, only 15 feet away from the spinning vehicle.
That is when police moved in and stopped the vehicle. The man driving the car was arrested and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
The driver faces a criminal charge of dangerous driving.
