More Windsor-Essex schools reporting COVID-19 cases

The Greater Essex County District School Board identified another two cases of COVID-19 within its system.

A student at Bellewood Public School and a student at Massey Secondary School have tested positive for the virus.

Both schools remain open at this time. The school board and the Windsor Essex County Health Unit have been working together to identify all possible high-risk contacts.

If you have not been contacted, you or your child have not been identified as a close contact and may continue to go to school as usual.

This brings the total number of cases within the public board to 59.

Most of the cases have been linked to an outbreak at Begley Public School where 39 staff and students have tested positive for the virus.

Parents are asked to continue to monitor their children for symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough and difficulty breathing. Anyone who is sick should stay home and contact their primary health provider for further instructions.
