The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has declared an outbreak at Corpus Christi Catholic Middle School - Central Park Athletics Campus.

The outbreak is currently contained to one cohort. There are currently seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the single classroom. The entire class of 24 students was dismissed last week. All students are being asked to get tested for COVID-19.

“The health and safety of students and staff at Corpus Christi Catholic Middle School, Central Park Athletics Campus community remains our top priority. We will continue to work with public health to keep the school community informed about the outbreak and implement all necessary additional health and safety measures to clean and disinfect of the school,” said WECDSB Director of Education Terry Lyons.

All other students and staff within the school are deemed low-risk and can continue to attend classes as usual.

Parents are reminded to continue to monitor their children for symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

This is the third outbreak within a school setting in the Windsor-Essex community. Both Begley Public School and W.J. Langlois are currently closed due to an outbreak.
