Two people from the Toronto area are facing charges after a traffic stop uncovered drugs.
Ontario Provincial Police say a vehicle was stopped at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on Erie Street South in Leamington.
Upon inspection of the vehicle, unspecified quantities of crack cocaine, cannabis bud, opioids, hash oil, and Canadian cash were found. The driver and passenger were then arrested without incident.
Steve-Ray Brown, 33, and Cassidy Smither, 18, both of Brampton, have been charged with unlawful possession of over 30 grams of cannabis in a public place, contrary to the federal Cannabis Act; and three counts each of possession with intent to sell.
These charges have not been proven in court.
