Police in LaSalle are continuing to investigate a shooting that took place earlier this week in the town.
It took place Monday at a residence on Eastbourne Avenue near Howard Avenue. According to police, the victim went to his front door around 8 p.m. when he was confronted by a person with a gun who opened fire.
The adult male victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene and has not yet been located or identified.
LaSalle Police investigators have released a photo of a vehicle of interest that was seen in the area around the time of the incident. The vehicle is described as a black mid-size car with a loud exhaust and a burnt-out passenger headlight.
"It is unknown at this time if this vehicle was involved however police are asking the public not to approach this vehicle as the occupants may be armed and dangerous," police said in a news release on Friday. "If possible, write down the licence plate number and the location of the vehicle and contact police immediately."
LaSalle police believe that this is a targeted incident and does not believe that there is any ongoing threat to public safety.
