Sawed-off shotgun seized by Windsor Police

Windsor police seized a sawed-off shotgun in downtown Windsor Tuesday.

Police were called to Ouellette Avenue around 9:15 p.m. for reports of a person with a gun. By the time police arrived, the person had left the area.

A suspect was identified and located in the area of Victoria Avenue and Pine Street around 9:30 p.m. A man was arrested without incident and police seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun.

Jonathan Casey, 38, is charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited, breach of probation, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and a number of other gun-related charges.

The matter remains under investigation.
