Your thoughts wanted on LaSalle's new waterfront park project

The Town of LaSalle plans to share a survey and a poll on its Small Coast Waterfront Project soon as it gets community input on the 65-acre endeavor.

The project will include an event centre, leisure zones, a sports zone, trails, a new boat launch, a historic zone, and a splash pad or fountain that can be converted into an ice rink in the winter. The site will be accessible and interactive celebrating the town's English, French, and Indigenous cultures.

"It will be a connected, multi-amenity environment that offers the community an expanded, year-round destination," read a release from the Town of LaSalle. "It will be an authentic site that captures the rich history and culture of LaSalle."

In Phase one, the town bought up the land it needed.

Until March 1, a series of videos sharing information about the project will be shared with the public.

The town will use PlaceSpeak, an online forum the public can use to share their thoughts with the town's administration. Feedback about the Small Coast Waterfront Project will be accepted until March 1.

If you have not set up a PlaceSpeak account yet, you can by going to the platform's website. Once your account is set up, you can comment and receive information about other projects around LaSalle too.

Residents can also take part by sending a letter to Mr. Kevin Miller and Mr. Peter Marra at the Town of LaSalle, 5950 Malden Road, LaSalle, Ontario N9H 1S4.
