More kids in Windsor-Essex will soon be able to access important accessibility equipment thanks to a large donation from a local business.
Cartoon Kingdom recently donated nearly $26,000 of collectables and memorabilia to Easter Seals Ontario (Windsor-Essex).
“This was a tremendous opportunity to help kids with physical disabilities,” says Cartoon Kingdom Co-Owner Arlen Mifflin. “This community helped us grow our business for nearly two decades and giving back was a simple decision.”
The local toy retailer and collectables boutique, which has been in operation for over 20 years, donated a large variety of high-end Disney art; Marvel, DC, Star Wars and Star Trek collectables along with a few hundred novelty items, Funko Pop! Figures, anime, and video game-related toy merchandise to Easter Seals.
Easter Seals will use the items to raise money and awareness for kids with physical disabilities in 2021.
“We, at Easter Seals, are extremely grateful for Cartoon Kingdom’s support,” says Easter Seals’ Development Officer, Jeremy Renaud. “We will unlock the full potential of this gift to ensure that the maximum number of children will be supported through our programs and services.”
The proceeds will go toward funding essential mobility and accessibility equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, ramps, and lifts.
