Windsor man charged in sexual assault at quarantine hotel

Police in Montreal confirm a Windsor man faces charges after a sexual assault at a quarantine hotel in Dorval, Quebec.

"Robert Shakory was arrested and appeared in court on February 19, 2021, in the Court of Quebec," responded the section des communications at the Service de police de la Ville de Montreal Friday morning. Shakory, 29, faces criminal harassment, sexual assault and breaking and entering charges.

La Presse first reported the incident on Thursday.

A 24-year-old woman arrived at the Sheraton Hotel at Trudeau Airport on February 16. During the second night of her stay, she left her room to find a bottle of water, when she ran into another guest.

After engaging in conversation, the man forced his way into her room, got comfortable on the couch and flirted with her. La Presse says the woman repeatedly asked him to leave, and when he did not, she went into the bathroom to call security on her cell phone.

The man allegedly grabbed her, but she wrestled free and ran down the hall. When she turned around, the man had pulled down his pants and started touching himself.

Police told BlackburnNews.com the file is currently in the hands of the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions.

The charges have not been proven in court.
