For the first time in months, there are no COVID-19 outbreaks being monitored by the local health unit at any Windsor-Essex long-term care home or retirement facility.
The last two outbreaks at Franklin Gardens and Regency Park were officially resolved on Tuesday.
Health unit staff are monitoring outbreaks at six workplaces, two shelters, two hospital units, and one school.
There were only 10 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the region on Wednesday.
Among the new cases, three are outbreak-related, four are close contacts of a confirmed case, and three are community acquired.
The Windsor Essex County Health Unit also reported one more death linked to the virus. A man in his 70s who lived in a long-term care facility passed away after testing positive.
There are currently 262 active cases in the community. Local hospitals are treating 47 patients with COVID-19.
