The Windsor Essex County Region reported 36 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
Among the new cases, eight are close contacts of confirmed cases, five are community-acquired, one is outbreak-related, and 22 are still under investigation.
There are now 274 active cases in the community. Of those, 39 are receiving treatment in the hospital.
The health unit is currently monitoring 15 active outbreaks in the community, including three at long-term care and retirement facilities and three at schools.
An outbreak was recently declared at W.F Herman Secondary School where two student cases within a single cohort have been identified. The school remains open.
Since March 2020, the region has had 13,260 confirmed cases of the virus, 12,592 of which are now resolved.
