Regular Encore player collects $100K

Playing the lottery regularly has paid off for a Windsor woman.

Elaine Leblanc says "yes" regularly to playing Encore, and she did so for the February 8 draw of the Pick 3 game. She matched the last six of the seven Encore numbers to win the second prize of $100,000. She picked up her cheque this week at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Leblanc got the shock of her life when she checked her numbers online.

"When I saw I matched six numbers on Encore, it was unbelievable," said Leblanc. "I scanned my ticket using the OLG Lottery App and almost wanted to scream but held back because I didn’t want to scare my mom who was resting next to me."

She said she did wake her mother so she could confirm that the ticket was a winner.

Leblanc, who purchased the winning ticket from Pioneer on Howard Avenue in Windsor, plans to use some of the winnings to buy a big-screen TV.

Encore is drawn by the OLG every day, and works with most of its draw games. An additional $1 wager makes the player eligible for 22 possible prize combinations, worth $2 to $1-million.
