Windsor police seek suspect in road rage incident

Investigators are looking for clues after a suspect allegedly threatened another driver with a weapon.

Windsor police say it happened around 10 p.m. Friday in the area of Howard Avenue and Grand Marais Road East. The victim and the suspect were both driving northbound on Howard when, according to the complaint, the suspect's vehicle was driven erratically. This caused the victim to employ defensive driving techniques to avoid a crash.

Constable Talya Natyshak said the suspect pointed a weapon at the victim twice, on Howard between Logan Avenue and Hyde Street, and again on Howard near Shepherd Street.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red four-door sedan with tinted windows, possibly a 2000 Nissan Altima. The suspect is described as a brown-skinned male, 20 to 30 years old, 5'11", 200 lbs, with short dark hair. He was wearing a black coat and light-coloured khakis.

The Major Crime Unit is investigating the incident and has asked anyone in the area with security camera footage to check it and let them know if they see anything unusual.

Anyone with information should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
