The Windsor Police Service has arrested a school custodian after a report of a child exploitation incident.
According to Constable Talya Natyshak, the incident was reported to the police on April 30, 2021. Investigators learned a man was communicating with and agreed to meet with a person under the age of 16 for the purpose of committing a sexual-related offence.
After an investigation, police arrested and charged 45-year-old Paul Larose with communicating with a person believed to be under the age of sixteen years for the purpose of facilitating the commission of a sexual assault. The charge has not been proven in court.
In the interest of public safety, police reported the accused worked as a custodian where children may have been present.
Larose is listed as a custodian on the Georges P. Vanier French Catholic Elementary School website. Over the weekend, parents from the school were notified that school administrators were aware of an inappropriate video that was posted online that involved a staff member. According to the letter, staff then contacted the authorities and an investigation was launched. The letter signed by Principal Nicole Larocque stated staff continue to cooperate with the investigation. The letter further indicated the individual in question was relieved of his duties.
