City proposes converting Realtor Park football field to baseball diamond

The City of Windsor is considering adding a new baseball diamond in Realtor Park but wants some feedback from residents first.

The city is looking to convert one of two seldom-used football fields at the park into a baseball diamond. Staff are proposing converting the football field closest to the parking lot and play area into a baseball diamond while maintaining a football/soccer field on the south end of the park.

Currently, Realtor Park on Homedale Boulevard has a playground, splash pad, washroom facilities, tennis and pickleball courts, three baseball diamonds, and two football fields.

The City of Windsor has earmarked $135,000 in the capital budget for the project, once it gets feedback from residents.

Parks and Recreation Staff encourage residents to visit the City of Windsor’s website for more information on the project and provide comments before May 21, 2021.
