Shut down at Windsor Assembly Plant extended again

The Windsor Assembly Plant will spend yet another week closed due to a parts shortage.

Last week, Unifor Local 444 announced the nearly two month closure would be pushed into the week of May 17. The union said it was given similar news from Stellantis again Monday evening.

There's no word yet as to when the plant will be able to welcome employees back to work.

A microchip shortage continues to plague the auto production industry around the world.

The shutdown at the plant was first announced the week of March 29.
