A fixture of Windsor summers will make its season debut on time this week.
The Charles Brooks Memorial Peace Fountain will be installed in its usual perch off Reaume Park in east Windsor. The goal is to have it operational before Monday, Victoria Day.
The fountain's installation is on time this year, after being delayed for a few weeks last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, it was classified as a non-essential work project.
The structure is the largest floating fountain in the world that sits on an international boundary. When the fountain is activated, water shoots up to 70 feet in the air.
At night, the fountain is enhanced by a colourful light show that is visible along the Windsor riverfront.
