Efforts to make Downtown Windsor more important than ever

Soon, you will see a lot more plants and flowers in downtown Windsor's parklets and patios.

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association, the City of Windsor's Horticultural Division, and businesses downtown have partnered to make the area beautiful for an expected increase in visitors.

"As always, but perhaps more important this season than ever before, the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association works hard to promote and beautify the city centre and attract visitors," read a release from the association.

This year, it has extended its efforts to parklets and restaurant patios.

The association is sweetening the pot by covering half of the cost for member businesses.

"A project like this helps build and instill civic pride," said Cook's Shop owner Spencer Dawson.
