Municipalities opening outdoor amenities

Local municipalities are opening some popular outdoor amenities now that it's allowed under the provincial roadmap for reopening.

The Town of Tecumseh is opening up its skatepark on Wednesday. Skate park users will be limited to a maximum of 10 people on the skate park surface inside the fenced area at one time for a maximum of 30 minutes.

“We know the Skate Park is a very popular outdoor amenity and we are happy to re-open it for use,” said Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara. “We encourage users to follow all public health guidelines in place, respect the direction of staff on site and avoid using the park during peak times.”

The park will be open Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. when staff will be on hand to log contact info of users for contact management.

The City of Windsor operated Lakeview Park Marina will also open to the public this week.

Seasonal boaters have been launching their boats by appointment for first-time access to their slip. But starting Thursday, the boat ramps and fuel pumps will be open for the general public. Visit the Lakeview Park Marina website for operational times throughout the season.
