Two injured after truck crashes into apartment unit

A 48-year-old Windsor man has been charged with impaired driving after the truck he was operating crashed into a building on Mill Street Sunday night.

Police were called to the building on Mill Street near Donnelly Street around 11:45 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a grey F-150 pick-up truck partially inside an apartment unit.

Officers began looking for injured people and evacuated the entire apartment building. Two men who were inside the damaged unit were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Windsor Police Service charged the driver with impaired operation of a conveyance.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service. Police are also looking for any surveillance footage from the area for possible evidence.
