Suspect arrested in Leamington break-and-enter

A 27-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a break-and-enter early Thursday morning in Leamington.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers were called shortly after 4:30 a.m. to the business on Erie Street South, responding to an alarm at that location.

Police discovered a break-and-enter in progress and spotted a man trying to run from the scene. The man was taken into custody.

Paul William Lenca of Leamington has been charged with break-and-enter to commit an offence, break-and-enter with intent to steal firearms, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of break-in instruments.

These charges have not been proven in court. The accused was held for a bail hearing in a Windsor courtroom.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
