Pilot injured in Lakeshore plane crash

A 77-year-old pilot has been taken to hospital following a single-seater plane crash in Lakeshore.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Saturday shortly before 9:30 a.m., the plane crashed while attempting to land at a private runway on Lakeshore Road 302.  Police officers, Lakeshore firefighters and Chatham-Kent EMS all responded to the scene.

The plane sustained moderate damage and the 77-year-old pilot was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the incident, police said.
