Two Windsorites faces multiple weapon and drug counts

Windsor police say two people have been arrested after they were allegedly seen selling drugs downtown.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) Unit spotted two people in a vehicle parked on Ouellette Avenue and Wyandotte Street East. After some observation, the vehicle's occupants were arrested.

The investigation uncovered unspecified quantities of methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, and currency. A knife and BB gun were also found and seized, according to Constable Talya Natyshak.

A 32-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Windsor, are each charged with possession of crystal methamphetamine and cocaine for selling, and trafficking methamphetamine. The male is also charged with two counts of firearm possession while prohibited, one count of possession of a knife, and one count of breach of probation.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4361, or Crime Stoppers.
