Windsor Public Library open for browsing

Windsor Public Library is welcoming patrons back into all of its branches Friday morning.

As of 9 a.m., the libraries will be open for browsing, checking out books, and computer use.

"It is still reduced capacity to make sure that we're social distancing and all that but our front doors will be open, we are beyond excited," said Library CEO Kitty Pope.

Masks will still be required while using all library services.

Pope expects to launch some programming, such as book clubs, again in the fall.

"We've been having really good success with our online programming, but we're hoping in the fall we'll be able to launch some in-person programs, particularly our book clubs, because I know a lot of our readers really miss the book clubs," said Pope.

All branches will have capacity limits based on the provincial Roadmap to Reopening legislation. The province entered Step 3 on the roadmap as of 12:01 Friday, July 16.
