Craft beers and spirits take flight again in Windsor-Essex

As businesses continue to reopen in Windsor-Essex, residents and visitors alike are being invited to sample the area's best in beer and spirits.

At Windsor's Walkerville Brewery on Friday morning, Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) launched the new all-digital Flight Log passport, supporting the popular Barrels, Bottles and Brews campaign. The updated trail consists of 14 craft breweries and distilleries across Windsor-Essex.

TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr said that with the province in Step Three of the Roadmap to Reopen, now is the perfect time to announce the updated Flight Log so people can take advantage of these businesses.

"As the industry continues to reopen incrementally, we recognize the need to launch programming that further supports our 'Support Local' messaging, which of course has been, 'Stay-Cation' Windsor-Essex," said Orr.

Six of the participating businesses are in the City of Windsor, with three in Amherstburg, three in Kingsville, one in Tecumseh, and one in Leamington.

This time around, TWEPI has teamed up with software platform company Bandwango to create an all-digital Flight Log, with three passport options. The one-day program is $25, which allows the user to taste adult beverages at five locations over 24 hours. The seven-day option is for $40, allowing the user nine tastings in one week.

There is also the Frequent Flyer Membership for $75, for which the user is given a whole year's experience, complete with tastings at all 14 partners, a birthday tasting at the partner of the user's choice, giveaways, and invitations for members-only offers.

To register for a Flight Log, visit the official webpage on the Barrels, Bottles and Brews website.
