A Windsor police dog helped officers nab one of two robbery suspects accused of breaking into a business in south Walkerville Wednesday afternoon.
Just after 1:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a business on Kildare Road near Seneca Street. According to police, two male suspects were observed on security footage entering the property and allegedly stealing.
Police, along with the K9 unit arrived a short time after the break-in was called in and immediately arrested one suspect as he attempted to flee on foot. A second suspect was located within the property by a police dog as he attempted to evade police by hiding.
Subsequently, both suspects were arrested without incident.
Following the arrests, police said they also located a parked car near the business and found evidence that determined the vehicle was connected to the suspects and the robbery.
A pair of Windsor men, aged 39 and 50 are both charged with breaking and entering and possession of break-in instruments. The 39-year-old faces two additional charges of failing to comply with a release order.
