Man arrested in Kingsville home invasion

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 43-year-old man following a break-and-enter over two weeks ago.

Officers from the Kingsville detachment responded to a home at around 8 a.m. on August 9. The complainant told police the house was broken into sometime during the night.

A person of interest was soon identified through security camera footage, and on Monday, officers spotted the suspect in Leamington, riding a bicycle.

The Leamington man was arrested and charged with one count of break-and-enter to commit an offence. The charge has not been proven in court.

The OPP has reminded residents to give them a call immediately if they see suspicious activity. Residents are also being urged to make sure all doors, windows, vehicles, garages, and sheds are closed and locked to reduce the risk of a break-in.
