More drugs seized after early-morning raid in Windsor

For the second time this week, Windsor police completed a lengthy investigation to get more illicit drugs off the city's streets.

Members of the Drugs and Guns Unit (DIGS) began a probe last month after getting a complaint about the sale of illegal drugs. The investigation uncovered several suspects and one home, according to Constable Darius Goze.

On Thursday evening, investigators obtained a warrant to search a home on Pelissier Street near Elliott Street West. Officers from the DIGS Unit and Emergency Services Unit raided the home shortly after midnight Friday morning.

A total of $83,000 in illegal drugs were seized. These included 32.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 153.3 grams of fentanyl, 169 grams of crack cocaine, 1.2 grams of cocaine, 26 Xanax bars, 60 milligrams morphine tablets, and 3 mg hydromorphone capsules. An SKS rifle and a loaded .40-calibre semi-automatic handgun were also seized, along with an unspecified amount of cash.

Two adult males and two juveniles are facing a total of 20 charges. Since the juveniles were arrested under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act, Windsor police will not name any of the suspects in this case.
