Windsor police arrest suspect in Seminole robbery

Windsor police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a convenience store on Monday night.

It happened around 11 p.m. at the business on Seminole Street near Arthur Road. Officers responded to a call about a robbery that had just taken place.

Police learned that the suspect had entered the store, brandished a knife, and demanded money. The man took an unspecified amount of cash and was last seen fleeing west on Seminole Street. No injuries were reported.

A 34-year-old man was taken into custody and has been charged with one count of robbery. He was released on an undertaking and will have a chance to respond to the charge on a future court date.

Investigators would like to thank the public and the media for their help to resolve this matter, as the arrest was the direct result of the public appeal Wednesday afternoon.

Anyone with additional information should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.
