Big prizes added to the WEVax to Win lottery

Two Chrysler Pacifica's have been added to the list of prizes fully vaccinated residents in Windsor-Essex can win as part of the WEVax To Win lottery.

The contest was launched on September 1 and nearly 25,000 residents have entered.

“This is an important time in our community's fight against COVID-19, and it is vital that eligible residents be vaccinated to slow the spread of the virus and the highly-transmissible Delta variant. Vaccinations are how we beat back a fourth wave, avoid lockdowns, protect community safety, and secure our local economic recovery. This contest serves as an incentive for everyone to simply do the right thing," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

There is now a traditional Chrysler Pacifica and a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on the lottery prize list.

Other prizes include, city-wide parking passes, tuition payments for university and college students, gift certificates to local establishments, a Windsor Spitfires suite package, and a property tax holiday in the City of Windsor.

“Residents can win fantastic prizes by getting vaccinated, and we can win as a region because the more people who are vaccinated against COVID-19 the better,” said Warden Gary McNamara. “Vaccination is the best protection against COVID-19 for yourself, your family and those around you.”

To date, 74.7 per cent of eligible residents in Windsor-Essex have been fully vaccinated.
