The first winners of the WeVax to Win lottery were drawn on Friday.

"You have two angle here. You have the carrot angle which is let's have a vaccine lottery and encourage people to look at the evidence, look at the science and make a decision that helps get the community vaccinated," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "You also have a bit of the stick in play where you have restrictions put in place, there are vaccine passports there are a whole bunch of different restrictions in place."
Friday's prizes were a Windsor Spitfires suite package, City of Windsor city wide parking passes, and City of Windsor recreation prizes.
Top prizes include, a Chrysler Pacifica, a holiday from rent or property taxes in the City of Windsor and free tuition from the University of Windsor or St. Clair College.
