An Ontario Early Years Centre in Windsor is moving forward from the success of a previous COVID-19 vaccine clinic.
Connections Early Years Family Centre will again team up with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, to provide a mobile vaccine clinic on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic is open to anyone who needs one or both doses of a vaccine, along with anyone eligible to receive a booster shot.
"We look forward to welcoming the community to the walk-in COVID-19 clinic at Connections," said Executive Director Barb Brown. "We hope this is a convenient location for many people and that the free child care provided by our staff is helpful to families who need it."
Connections hosted a mobile vaccine clinic in October.
The clinic is geared toward parents who have been unable to get a vaccine due to childcare concerns. With that, Connections will provide free childcare onsite with Registered Early Childhood Educators on hand.
The childcare is provided courtesy of the Be Back Soon program, a service funded by Pathway to Potential for eligible parents who wish to attend classes, medical or counselling appointments, job interviews, and so on. Be Back Soon was expanded this summer to include parents in certain Windsor postal codes who wish to leave their children for vaccine appointments.
Connections is located on the corner of Giles Boulevard East and Marentette Avenue in Windsor. Street parking is available, and it is located on a bus route.
