Two arrested in Lakeshore vehicle theft

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested two Windsor men following an early-morning vehicle theft in Lakeshore.

Officers from the Lakeshore detachment were called around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, the vehicle's owner reported that the vehicle was in a ditch on Lakeshore Road 213, and the two occupants had run from the scene.

Following a search by OPP officers, a K-9 unit, and the Emergency Response Team, the two men were found and arrested.

Both the 40-year-old man and the 31-year-old man have been charged with vehicle theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

The pair have been released and will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court on December 16.
