The Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch will soon have a new CEO.
Following a career that has spanned more than three decades, Claudia den Boer plans to retire in April.
"It has been my joy and privilege to serve the organization as CEO over the past six years, and I know that it will be hard for me to 'let go' of the fulfilling work and many exciting opportunities that lie ahead," said den Boer.
Her last day is April 4, 2022.
She started her career at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital. After that, she held several executive-level positions at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and Windsor Regional Hospital before taking over her current role at the Canadian Mental Health Association in 2015.
"The board is grateful to Claudia for her visionary leadership since 2015. She has been a true advocate for the organization," said Board Chair Barb Davis.
The Board of Directors has chosen a successor, Doctor Sonja Grbevski. She starts her new job on March 7, 2022.
Grbevski has 25 years of experience in mental health, both in hospital settings and in the community. She received her doctorate in Counsellor Education from Wayne State University in Detroit. More recently, she has served as the Vice President of Clinical Services, Mental Health Addictions at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
