Public board reports three new COVID-19 cases Monday

The Greater Essex County District School Board reported a trio of positive COVID-19 patients on Monday.

According to the board's website Monday night, one case involving a staff member was reported at Vincent Massey Secondary School in Windsor. One student case apiece was also confirmed at Gore Hill Public School in Leamington, and Prince Edward Public School in Windsor.

The GECDSB does not publicly identify the number of classes or bus cohorts dismissed.

As of Monday night, the English public board reported 65 active student cases, plus six involving teachers or staff.

Students are currently off for the winter holiday break.

Meanwhile, at the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, there was a total of 37 active COVID-19 cases throughout its buildings. All except one are students. According to the board's website, there are currently eight confirmed cases at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Elementary in Stoney Point, and five active cases at St. Louis Catholic Elementary in Leamington.

At CSC Providence, the French Catholic board, there were 21 active cases involving Windsor-Essex schools, according to the government of Ontario's website which was updated Monday morning. Seventeen of those patients were students.
